CHEER Illness Policy

In the event that you or one of your children falls ill, you will be released from your commitment and/or responsibility, so that you may stay home and create a restful environment, to aid in a full and speedy recovery of the illness. Illness is defined as exhibiting ANY ONE of the following symptoms, at any time, during the 24 HOURS PRIOR to any CHEER function or activity (even if the ill person is symptom free at the time of the function or activity):
  • extreme signs of fatigue or lethargy
  • inexplicable irritability or persistent crying
  • uncontrolled coughing, wheezing, or difficulty breathing
  • vomiting
  • diarrhea (regardless of cause)
  • body temperature in excess of 100oF (or fever-free without the aid of medication)
  • less than 24 hours, since initiation of antibiotics, for a diagnosed illness (while any streptococcal infection requires a minimum of 48 hours of antibiotics)
